Hello, New Friends!

Down here in the South we say ‘hey, y’all’!  Welcome to my blog and my very first post. I have blogged in the past but not for several years and, up until now, only the free ones. I am excited to embark on a new journey and want to give a huge thank you and shout out to Abby over at Just a Girl and Her Blog who has helped so many, like me, get started in a more serious fashion. What you are seeing right now is just the very beginning and will be tweaked many times over until I am satisfied that it is a pretty and pleasant place to visit and to linger. I love constructive feedback, too, so feel free to give me your 2 cents, just keep it kind, okay?  Now, let’s get down to business…

Why I chose my blog name. It is a tongue twister and I cannot say it several times really fast, haha. I knew that my name must absolutely include soul, as it is the essence of who we are. I also knew that it is the things that make our soul happy that matters most and revelry is intense, uninhibited merry making. Not the naughty kind, mind you, because we must always mind our manners even when making merry so that we might never influence someone else’s soul in a negative way. Nope, that simply will never do. Only the good things, the wise and wonderful and kind and joyful things. Those are the things we fill up our soul with until our soul is brimming with them to overflowing and spilling over on everyone around us. One can never drown is this kind of spillage because good things are buoyant and cause us to float on top of all that might weigh us down and cause us to sink. Just like Scripture teaches, whatsoever things are good, think on these things. That is what this blog is meant for. I want to search out the good things to live by, to influence my soul with, and share them with you. Not just the things that make our eyes happy but those that make our hearts happy too. Things like home décor and organization because clutter and chaos is never a good thing. Things like health of mind and body, because it is hard to have a happy heart with a sick body and a stressed mind. And the weightier, wise things that steer our soul on this life journey. I am beyond excited to share all these with you!  I can scarcely decide where to begin! I will keep this first post short, but I won’t be able to promise much of the short kind in the future. There is just too many lovely things to cover. Until the next time, may you know peace and share the goodness of your soul with those around you. 🙂
